Starting the Hike in Stahovica

From Stahovica, the route initially follows a quiet road through the nearby villages before continuing onto a marked forest trail. The first section is peaceful and mostly shaded, making it a pleasant way to begin the hike.

Walking Route to Sveti Primož

The trail from Stahovica follows a steady uphill route through the forest. The entire route can be walked along the forest road, but there are also several shortcuts where you can leave the road and shorten the hike.

Summit and Views

My Experience

I started the hike from Stahovica and really enjoyed the route. I like this hike because it is not technically demanding, but you still gain almost 400 meters of elevation, making it a good workout and a useful training hike.

The climb is steady, and the forest provides shade during much of the route. I also liked that you can choose between staying on the forest road for the entire hike or taking some of the shortcuts along the way to make the route shorter.

For me, Sveti Primož is a great option when I want a relatively short hike that still gives me a good workout. The peaceful surroundings, the historic churches at the top, and the views towards Kamnik make the effort worthwhile. It is a hike I would happily do again, especially when I want to get some elevation without taking on a technically difficult mountain trail.
