Jezersko Scenic Viewpoint Easy Alpine Hike

Jezersko is one of the most peaceful alpine destinations in Slovenia, surrounded by impressive mountains, fresh air, and beautiful natural landscapes. Near Planšarsko jezero, this easy hike offers a relaxing outdoor experience with stunning views of the surrounding peaks.

The trail is suitable for visitors who want to enjoy nature without a demanding climb. The area has also recently gained a completely rebuilt guesthouse. Gostišče Jezersko opened in February 2026 after the former building was demolished and rebuilt. The new guesthouse includes a modern restaurant serving traditional homemade food and seven new rooms for visitors.

The hike starts near Planšarsko jezero, one of the most recognizable natural attractions in Jezersko. The area is surrounded by mountains and offers a perfect starting point for exploring the peaceful landscape.

The trail is simple to follow and leads through a calm natural environment. Because of the short distance and easy terrain, it is suitable for beginners, families, and casual hikers.

The route follows quiet paths surrounded by forests and alpine scenery. The fresh mountain air and natural surroundings make the walk enjoyable from the beginning.

Mountain Views from the Viewpoint

When I reached the viewpoint, I was rewarded with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. I especially enjoyed stopping here for a while and taking in the scenery.

The views towards the Kamnik–Savinja Alps make this short walk feel worthwhile. I also took some photos from the viewpoint before continuing my walk back.

Best Time to Visit Jezersko

I think Jezersko is worth visiting in every season, as the landscape changes throughout the year. When I visited, I especially enjoyed the fresh mountain air, green forests, and peaceful surroundings.

Spring and summer are great for enjoying the greenery, while autumn adds beautiful colors to the forest. Winter can completely change the experience, especially when snow and ice cover the paths.

For me, the best part was simply walking through the forest and enjoying the quiet surroundings before reaching the viewpoint. If you visit in different seasons, I recommend choosing your hiking equipment according to the weather and current trail conditions.

For this hike, I would still recommend bringing some basic hiking equipment, even though the route is short and easy.

I would take:

• Enough water
• A camera or phone for taking photos
• A light jacket in cooler weather
• A small backpack for personal items

The equipment you need can also depend on the season and weather conditions, especially if the trail is wet, snowy, or icy.

Why Visit Jezersko?

Jezersko is a great place to visit if you enjoy nature, forests, and mountain scenery. I like that there are many different possibilities for walks and hikes in the area, from easy routes to more demanding mountain trails.

This short walk is a nice option when you want to see a different side of Jezersko without spending several hours on the trail. The forest path, fresh mountain air, and view from the viewpoint make it a pleasant little hike.

I also enjoyed taking photographs during this walk. The forest path offers some nice natural scenery, but the viewpoint is where I took most of my photos.

The open view towards the surrounding mountains gives you a much better perspective of the landscape. On a clear day, the mountain peaks stand out beautifully, making the viewpoint a great spot to stop and take some photos.

Final Thoughts
